Customer Spotlight: The Black Rock Mud Company
The next company in our series of Customer Spotlight posts is all about a very interesting and innovative company called The Black Rock Mud Company.
The Black Rock Mud Company makes a 100% organic mud mask which comes from the “mudpots” of the Great Boiling Springs, which is located in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada.
The mineral rich mud from the Great Boiling Springs bubbles to the earth’s surface and then erupt sporadically which produces a limited supply of mud each year. The amount of mud that can be harvested varies from year to year, which means some years the company cannot make as much of their amazing organic skin products.
The main product that the company offers is called MudPot (pictured above), which is made with an illite clay. The illite clay is loaded with healthy minerals that will invigorate your skin and will also help to pull toxins and other impurities out of your skin.
Since the product is completely organic you do not have to worry about chemicals that can dry out and damage your skin like many other skin products on the market.
Black Rock Mud products purify and heal the skin with over 50 organic nutrients including: zinc, calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium.
In addition to the Mudpot mask, the Black Rock Mud Company also offers a mudpot natural spot treatment cream, a geyser thermal spring water spray, custom made soaps, and a soak & soap detox product.
You can buy all of these products right from the Black Rock Mud product page, which is located here on their website: Black Rock Mud Company Store.
The Black Rock Mud Company was started up by 2 friends in 2010, Shelly Egbert and Summer Powelson. Shelly had known about the benefits of the mud from the Great Boiling Springs because her family had a piece of property there where they spent their family vacations.
She had always heard her family and friends talking about the mud from the mineral springs and how smooth and soft it made their skin.
Since Shelly knew about the benefits of the miracle mud first hand, she realized that something so special needed to be shared with the world. That is when she made the decision to start harvesting the mud and selling it, this way others could experience the natural effects of Mother Natures gift.
When Shelly made the decision to create the company, she asked her good friend Summer to partner up with her, and the Black Rock Mud Company came to fruition in 2010.
Eco Friendly Packaging
The Black Rock Mud Company has such a tremendous amount of respect for the Earth, so they are doing everything that they can to help protect it. The product packaging that is used for all of the Black Rock Mud products is completely recyclable & biodegradable.
In addition to being recyclable and biodegradable, the organic packaging can also be planted right in your backyard!
The plantable packaging is made from different varieties of wildflower seeds, so all that you have to do is plant the packaging, water it, and then wait for the beautiful wildflowers to bloom.
The Black Rock Mud Company facility is located right in the Black Rock Desert. The facility is completely sustainable and it is totally powered from wind, solar, and geothermal sources.
