Creativity in Your Brand Messaging

March 17, 2015

Messaging is an important part of any marketing strategy, but in order to get the most visibility, it is important to stand out and be unique. With so much that has been done; and is being done with marketing strategies, it can be hard to stand out. This makes it more important than ever to be creative and to think outside of the box.

Your messaging is not just your slogan and mission statement, it is much more since it is everything that says anything about your brand.

When working on a new marketing campaign, try coming up with creative sayings and designs that will grab people’s attention. Think of a way to connect with your customers with your messaging strategies so you are talking to them as if your brand was another person.

Part of connecting with your customers is by going to the places where they spend their time. Online this would be social media platforms, forums, and even Q & A websites. Offline this can also be done by finding out where the type of people that you want as customers hang out and buying or placing targeted advertising there.

If your brand has a catchy slogan or tagline you need to make sure that it will be seen by the right people. Incorporating it into your packaging by including it in your logo is one way to help make your catchy slogan, and your brand, top of mind. It is important to include the things that are memorable about your brand on everything that is tied to the brand.

Being Unique

The area where creativity really comes into play is thinking of new and innovative ideas to show that your company is unique. When you can clearly define what makes your company unique and different, the creative ideas of how to craft your message will become much easier.

You do not want to be confused with another brand, and if you are then you are not doing a good enough job of being unique. You may sell the same types of products as another company, but it is all of the other things that make you different. This includes how you talk to your customers, and what you are doing to make their lives easier.

That is why creativity is so important. So much has been done by brands in the past, and in order to be truly memorable you have to stand out in different areas.

Hiring the right people for your marketing team can make this much easier. When building the team you want to find the individuals that stand out themselves. These are the ones that are unique and memorable. These are the designers, strategists, and thought leaders that will help take you to the next level. When interviewing people just remember that if they do not stand out to you immediately compared to another candidate then they may not be the right fit.

Roleplaying is a great way to help analyze everyone that you are interviewing. It does put them on the spot, but the right person should be good in that type of situation so their creativity can shine through. Try putting them in scenario where they have to come up with some marketing pitches on the spot and see how they do. The most creative people are usually free thinkers and in many cases will excel at these types of things.

This was exactly what i was looking for. Before I was using paper labels for my beverage product and they were not suitable for the way wanted to present my product. The labels would crinkle and peal of when the beverages got cold in the fridge. Now with my new labels from SHEET LABELS, I no... read more
