Artwork Resolution: Check The Resolution Of Your Artwork File Before Placing A Printed Label Order At SheetLabels.com!

August 23, 2013

Are you ordering custom printed labels on a sheet or individual printed labels from SheetLabels.com? Do you want to check the resolution of the artwork you’re uploading for your printed labels?

This blog is going to walk you through the steps of checking the resolution of an artwork file using a Mac computer!

If you’re using a Mac computer, start by opening your artwork file. Locate the artwork file on your computer. Once you’ve located the file, double click on that file.

Your artwork file opens in a box. This is called “Preview” because you’re previewing your artwork file.

Next, take your mouse to the taskbar on your computer. Now, click on “Tools”. Once you’ve clicked “Tools”, a list drops down. Click “Show Inspector”. A box opens, titled “General Info”. Here you can view:

  • File Name
  • Document Type
  • File Size
  • Creation Date
  • Modification Date
  • Image Size
  • Image DPI
  • Color Model
  • ColorSync Profile

“DPI” stands for dots per inch. “DPI” is another term for resolution. So, when checking the resolution of your artwork file, look at the “Image DPI”.

Using a Mac computer to check the resolution of an artwork file is easy and can be done in three quick steps!
