Create A Strong, Positive Relationship Between Your Business & Your Customers!

Having a good relationship with customers helps to build loyalty. Improving customer experience is all about customer service and going above and beyond what is expected!

In order for a business to improve its relationship with customers, there are six things individuals can do. Those six things are:

  1. Know that happy customers = returning customers
  2. Set and manage realistic expectations
  3. Be a connector
  4. Document important customer information
  5. Respond promptly
  6. Think like a salesperson

The first thing a business can do in order to improve their relationship with customers is to understand that happy customers = returning customers. Going above and beyond what’s expected of your company helps customers to trust and rely on your company. This in turn builds a brand loyal customer that is going to return whenever they need the products or services your business provides!

The second thing a business can do in order to improve their relationship with customers is to set and manage realistic expectations. It’s important for businesses and those working for a business to understand that they should never over promise. This often leads to disappointed customers! Instead, under promise and surprise customers when you’re able to go above and beyond what you promised! A happy customer is going to give your company good reviews, but when trust is broken it often leads a customer to find the products and services your business provides, somewhere else.

The third thing a business can do in order to improve their relationship with customers is to be a connector. Employees and business owners should always ask, “What can I do for this customer”? When people ask themselves this question, it often leads to solutions to problems and ways to efficiently help a customer without that customer even having to ask!

The fourth thing a business can do in order to improve their relationship with customers is to document important customer information! Creating a Google calendar or a spreadsheet with times to follow up with customers is one way to show customers that you’re always thinking about them! Never forget an important date to your customer by simply keeping track and updating calendars!

The fifth thing a business can do in order to improve their relationship with customers is to respond promptly. This sounds easy but answering phone calls, listening to voicemails and responding to emails quickly is often the difference between customers ordering from your company and customers finding a new provider!

The sixth and final thing a business can do in order to improve their relationship with customers is to think like a salesperson. Don’t wait for customers to call you with something they need. Instead, keep track of the reasons customers call you and follow up with that customer before they call you! This shows initiative and shows customers that you take interest in their wants and needs!

Getting new customers and keeping old customers is all about the way you and your business treat these customers.
